Scientist - Entry Level - Training Provided! - 2nd Shift (Environmental Science)

Location: Lancaster, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite, 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM

Salary: $18–$20.90 per hour, plus a 10% shift differential.

What you will do

• Prepare and analyze environmental samples using approved scientific methods and standard laboratory techniques.
• Perform chemical analyses, evaluate and quantify data, and record and report results or unusual test occurrences.
• Work with laboratory instrumentation and instrument-specific software; complete routine maintenance and receive training as needed.
• Complete scheduled quality control samples, maintain training documentation, and document nonconformances related to quality issues.
• Manage assigned workload using backlog reports, maintain laboratory supplies and glassware, and support housekeeping and sample disposal activities.
• Follow health, safety, quality assurance, and standard operating procedures while supporting other laboratory areas as needed.

Requirements

• BS or BA in Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field; an associate degree or two years of related laboratory experience may substitute.
• Computer proficiency and the ability to perform mathematical calculations and analyze data.
• Professional working proficiency in English is required, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship is required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work with organic solvents, laboratory glassware, and specialized equipment.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organization, prioritization, and accuracy skills.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a laboratory or production environment.
• Experience or interest in organic preparation, metals, PFAS, HRMS, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, radiochemistry, wet chemistry, or high- and low-resolution analysis.
