Senior Workday HRIS Analyst (Workday Payroll)

Location: Onsite in Burlington, Massachusetts, 4+ days per week

Salary: $95.00–$115.00 per hour

What you will do

• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for Workday Payroll and support global payroll operations.
• Configure and maintain payroll business processes, earnings, deductions, taxes, pay groups, pay components, payroll security, Time Tracking, and Absence functionality.
• Troubleshoot payroll transactions, calculations, configurations, integrations, and data inputs from benefits, equity, sales compensation, and other third-party systems.
• Design process improvements and automation for payroll, leave administration, compliance, data quality, and employee and manager self-service.
• Develop complex Workday reports, dashboards, calculated fields, data extracts, EIBs, and regulatory reporting for Payroll, HR, Finance, and Compliance.
• Coordinate Workday release, payroll, integration, business process, and regulatory testing while supporting audits, data conversions, mass uploads, and data governance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of HRIS experience, including 3 or more years supporting Workday Payroll.
• Deep functional expertise in Workday Payroll business processes, domain security, payroll configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting payroll operations and statutory requirements in both the United States and United Kingdom.
• Experience configuring and supporting Workday Time Tracking and Absence, including eligibility rules, accruals, leave plans, and time calculations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, taxation, statutory requirements, payroll controls, data privacy, PII protection, and GDPR, with strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Workday Payroll Certification.
• Experience with Workday Integrations, EIBs, and Core Connectors.
• Experience supporting global payroll operations, pension, tax, regulatory, and workforce audits.
• Knowledge of SOX controls and payroll governance.
• Experience leading Workday implementations, payroll migrations, or transformation initiatives.
