Risk Control Consultant Field

Location: Houston, Texas, United States. The role requires a consistent field presence, with approximately 20%–50% of the time spent onsite with customers. Long-distance, overnight, and multi-night travel may be required.

Salary: $81,500–$134,500 annual base salary, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Evaluate hazards, controls, management practices, and inherent risks for moderately complex commercial accounts.
• Complete risk assessments for manufacturers, restaurants, educational institutions, distributors, auto dealers, and fleets.
• Prepare technically detailed reports with clear risk assessments and recommendations.
• Analyze losses and customer readiness to recommend risk control products and services.
• Partner with underwriting to select, retain, and grow a profitable book of business.
• Build productive relationships with underwriting, claims, risk control specialists, and brokers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in environmental health and safety, construction management, basic sciences, or a related technical field.
• At least three years of experience in safety, risk control or management, occupational or environmental health and safety, science, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or relevant military work.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to obtain certifications required by applicable state-specific regulations.
• Strong written, verbal, listening, critical-thinking, influencing, and client relationship skills.
• Insurance industry knowledge, business acumen, technical aptitude, and experience working collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Recognized certifications such as ASP, CSP, ARM, or CFPS.
• Experience differentiating risks among similar classes of business.
