TL;DR
Sr. Manager, Program Management Communications (Aerospace & Defense): Leading Communications Systems programs and a Program Management team to deliver customer programs against contractual requirements, schedules, budgets, quality expectations, and customer satisfaction goals with an accent on cross-functional execution, customer communications, and operational leadership. Focus on managing complex mission-systems programs, resolving technical and operational issues, overseeing budgets and staffing, and implementing process improvements.

Location: Onsite in Farmingdale, New York; occasional travel of up to 25% may be required.

Salary: $131,809–$231,802 annually, plus a potential annual or quarterly bonus.

What you will do

  • Lead day-to-day execution of Communications Systems customer programs against contractual, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Set departmental objectives, allocate resources, and manage schedules, staffing plans, performance metrics, and budgets.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and evaluate Program Managers and support staff.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, and Business Development to resolve program issues.
  • Oversee customer communications, contract execution, proposal support, and issue resolution.
  • Improve operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, compliance, and business performance.

Requirements

  • Secret security clearance or the ability to attain one is required; eligibility for a Top Secret clearance is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required; an Engineering or related technical degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible program management experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 6+ years with a Master's degree.
  • Leadership experience overseeing Program Managers or cross-functional technical teams in Aerospace & Defense or a comparable manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, staffing, customer programs, and operational performance.
  • Must comply with US export control requirements, including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC policies; access to ITAR products and related technical data is restricted to US Citizens and US Permanent Residents.

Nice to have

  • Experience with complex mission systems for commercial aerospace, foreign military, and US DoD applications.
  • Experience with DFARS-governed programs and proposal development.
  • PMI, PMP, or similar program management certification.
  • Top Secret clearance eligibility.
