TL;DR

Location: League City, Texas; hybrid

Salary: $161,100–$200,365 per year, commensurate with experience.

hirify.global Olefins & Polymers USA operates a large-scale olefins and polymers manufacturing business with a focus on safety, health, environmental performance, and operational integrity.

What you will do

  • Define enterprise asset care strategies, lifecycle plans, inspection intervals, replacement timelines, and renewal paths for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, piping, and related fixed equipment.
  • Provide senior technical guidance to site mechanical engineering, reliability, and inspection teams on complex integrity, design, troubleshooting, repair, and failure investigation matters.
  • Own fixed equipment data quality and lifecycle history practices in PCMS or an equivalent mechanical integrity platform.
  • Steward the relief device program covering more than 4,000 devices, including sizing, testing, repair, condition records, and compliance documentation.
  • Integrate fixed equipment risk assessments into turnaround scope, capital planning, inspection programs, RBI, FFS, and damage mechanism reviews.
  • Coach more than 30 mechanical engineers and reliability leaders while participating in hirify.global, API, and AFPM technical networks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • 15–20 years of experience in fixed equipment reliability, design, or inspection within refining, petrochemical, chemical, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Expertise in pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, piping systems, degradation mechanisms, corrosion, metallurgical failure analysis, and repair techniques.
  • Working knowledge of API 510, 570, 571, 579, 580, 581, 653, 520/521, applicable ASME codes, RAGAGEP, and OSHA 1910.119 Mechanical Integrity requirements.
  • Experience managing relief device programs and applying RBI, FFS, damage mechanism reviews, and inspection findings to lifecycle strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish standards, improve PCMS data quality, influence technical decisions, and coach teams across a large manufacturing organization.

  • Advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Active participation in API, AFPM, or other mechanical integrity and reliability networks.
