Senior Mechanical Engineer - Fixed Equipment (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: Corpus Christi Plant in Ingleside, Texas, United States; onsite plant support with less than 15% travel and occasional shift/weekend coverage

Salary: $126,067–$196,980 per year, plus a 14% annual bonus target

What you will do

• Provide mechanical expertise for troubleshooting, maintaining, modifying, and improving operating equipment and facilities.
• Support Operations, Maintenance, and Technology teams through technical troubleshooting, training, and day-to-day plant engineering guidance.
• Provide mechanical engineering support for projects, including specifications, engineering standards, quality assurance, scope development, cost justification, and installation coordination.
• Lead process safety criticality assessments and manage mechanical integrity and quality assurance activities, including spare parts, SAP data, inspections, and maintenance procedures.
• Analyze equipment trends, historical data, uptime, life-cycle costs, and failure modes to improve reliability and preventive maintenance.
• Support safety, reliability, and quality investigations, turnarounds, start-ups, tests, and other non-routine plant needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an ABET-accredited university.
• 11+ years of related industrial or manufacturing experience with fixed equipment, including relevant degree-related internship or co-op experience where applicable.
• Knowledge of fixed equipment principles in the chemical process industry, maintenance and reliability practices, materials science, material selection, non-destructive testing, welding, fabrication, and third-party fabricators.
• Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASME Piping Codes, API Codes, welding and fabrication processes, repair procedures, RCFA, FMEA, data analysis, statistical interpretation, and engineering design standards.
• Ability to diagnose and solve technical problems using data-based decisions, manage multiple priorities and emergency situations, and work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including steel-toe footwear, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, and respirators. Immigration sponsorship, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, and TN sponsorship, is not available.
