Salary: $161,100–$200,365 per year, commensurate with experience

What you will do

  • Own the enterprise-wide fixed equipment inspection program covering pressure vessels, piping systems, storage tanks, manufacturing sites, and pipelines.
  • Define and assure risk-based inspection practices, damage mechanism reviews, inspection intervals, corrective actions, and program documentation.
  • Provide functional leadership, technical guidance, calibration, and audit support to site inspection leads and RBI analysts across multiple locations.
  • Lead inspector competency standards, development pathways, certification milestones, and succession planning.
  • Oversee vendor qualification, NDE technologies, third-party inspection quality, and integration of inspection records.
  • Support turnaround scope development and execution, maintain inspection KPIs, investigate mechanical integrity incidents, and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Certified API 510, API 570, and API 653 Inspector.
  • 15–20 years of experience in inspection management, mechanical integrity, or asset reliability in refining, petrochemical, or pipeline operations.
  • Deep knowledge of API 510, 570, 571, 579, 580/581, 653, applicable ASME standards, RBI, damage mechanism reviews, asset criticality, and fitness-for-service evaluations.
  • Experience selecting, applying, and interpreting NDE methods and supporting turnaround inspection planning and execution.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA 1910.119 PSM requirements for Mechanical Integrity programs and inspection data systems such as PCMS.
  • Ability to influence and coach teams across multiple operating sites without direct line authority.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • AWS CWI, NACE/AMPP, or RBI Analyst certification.
  • Active participation in API, AFPM Mechanical Integrity Subgroup, or similar industry networks.
