Distribution Engineer III (Electric Distribution)

What you will do

• Collect field data for overhead and underground electric distribution system designs using IKE Office, Katapult, Hastings Stick, SPIDAcalc, and client tools.
• Prepare construction orders, field notes, specifications, estimates, and computer-assisted design and construction drawings.
• Perform engineering calculations including pole loading, guying, transformer sizing, conductor loading and sagging, load studies, and voltage studies.
• Coordinate design development with project schedules and client requirements.
• Lead distribution designer teams and provide training and technical support to other design classifications.
• Act as a client contact, support proactive communication, and identify improvements to system processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to independently perform complex electric distribution design work according to applicable standards, specifications, and procedures.
• Ability to perform field data collection and prepare accurate engineering drawings and calculations.
• Work location: Houston, Texas, United States.
