What you will do

• Collect field data for overhead and underground electric distribution system designs using tools such as IKE Office, Catapult, and Hastings Stick.
• Prepare construction orders, field notes, specifications, estimates, and complex computer-assisted design and construction drawings.
• Perform structural design and engineering calculations, including pole loading, guying, transformer sizing, conductor loading and sagging, load studies, and voltage studies.
• Coordinate design development with project schedules and client requirements.
• Lead distribution designer personnel and provide training and technical support to other design classifications.
• Communicate proactively with clients, support process improvements, and meet project billable-hour goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing electric distribution systems according to applicable standards, guides, specifications, and procedures.
• Ability to perform field data collection and prepare accurate design documentation.
• Understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, industry standards, and company standards.
