Distribution Operations Supervisor (Electric Utility Distribution)

Salary: USD $78,852.80–$115,000 per year, with potential eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Supervise engineering and design work for the CPS Energy Distribution Engineering and Design group.
• Manage internal teams and external consultants supporting CPS Energy projects.
• Coordinate proposals, schedules, budgets, staffing, and resource allocation with Project Management.
• Lead team hiring, training, employee development, performance evaluations, and policy administration.
• Provide client, agency, contractor, supplier, and business development support.
• Maintain accurate records and oversee quality assurance and quality control for all team work.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of leadership, senior, lead design, or engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Design Manager or Coordinator, Distribution Engineer, Designer, Coordinator, or Analyst.
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code, CPS Energy Design and Construction Standards, and CD&D Design Standards.
• Experience with electric distribution design, including overhead, underground, URD, and gas distribution projects.
• Strong supervisory, communication, client service, negotiation, multitasking, and business development skills.
• High school diploma required; an engineering associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred. A clear and valid driver’s license and minimum age of 21 are required for driving on company time.

Nice to have

• Three to six years of project management experience with CPS Energy CD&D.
• Experience with CPS Energy applications, GIS, MicroStation, SAP, ARM, AutoCAD, jurisdictional permitting, or distribution planning.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Power Delivery; P.E. certification is a plus.
