Distribution Engineer III (Electric Distribution)

Salary: USD $72,467.20–$94,000.00 per hour

What you will do

• Design overhead and underground electric distribution facilities and prepare construction orders using applicable standards, specifications, and procedures.
• Collect equipment and field data using IKE Office, Katapult, Hastings Stick, SPIDAcalc, and other client tools.
• Prepare field notes, structural designs, cost estimates, specifications, requisitions, and computer-aided construction drawings.
• Complete engineering calculations covering pole loading, guying, transformer sizing, conductor loading and sagging, load studies, and voltage studies.
• Coordinate design development and project schedules while communicating with clients.
• Lead distribution design personnel, provide training and technical support, and identify process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing electric distribution systems and interpreting drawings, specifications, industry standards, and company standards.
• Ability to perform field data collection and prepare accurate design documentation.
• Work is associated with Huntersville, North Carolina, and includes field data collection.
