Specialist, Cost Management

Location: Huntsville, United States; onsite role

Salary: $84,581.12–$108,270.98 annual salary, plus a yearly discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.

What you will do

• Analyze actual versus budget costs, transaction reports, cost drivers, financial risks, and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare monthly inventory audits and complete cost-related monthly close activities.
• Support cost improvement management, create variable-account cost targets, and lead PDCA activities.
• Collaborate with accounting functions, manufacturing departments, company leadership, and international Mazda and Toyota stakeholders.
• Establish accounting and finance policies, templates, standardized work, and operating manuals.
• Support team member development through coaching, mentoring, cross-training, and inclusive collaboration; travel domestically and internationally and work outside typical business hours as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience with MS Excel.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
• CPA or CMA certification is recommended.
• Ability to collaborate across accounting, manufacturing, and international teams.

Nice to have

• Two years of accounting or production/industrial engineering experience.
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials or SAP/ERP systems.
• Knowledge of accounting regulations and GAAP.
• Advanced Excel experience with formulas, lookups, and tables.
• Experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, or Access Database.
