Cost Accountant (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States. Work arrangements may include a mix of in-office and remote work depending on the role and business needs; specific expectations are shared during the interview process. U.S. employment eligibility is verified through E-Verify.

Base salary: $84,178.82–$113,888.99 USD annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to cost accounting and inventory.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, reconciliations, and manufacturing accounting reports.
• Analyze inventory aging, turns, shrink, scrap, material review board inventory, in-transit balances, and inventory reserves.
• Investigate work order variances involving material usage, labor efficiency, routing, standard cost, and overhead absorption.
• Improve inventory controls, compliance procedures, reporting quality, and cost accounting processes.
• Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Finance, presenting recommendations to management and executive leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Experience with manufacturing cost accounting, inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle Fusion or a similar enterprise platform.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, presentation, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• MBA, CPA, CMA, or another relevant professional certification.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion Cost Management, Inventory, Hyperion Planning, Adaptive, Power BI, or equivalent tools.
• Experience with annual standard cost roll processes, PPV analysis, inventory reserves, manufacturing variance reporting, SOX compliance, financial controls, and audit support.
• Background in semiconductor, industrial manufacturing, electronics, automation, or other high-tech manufacturing environments.
