Director Inbound Distribution (Supply Chain and Distribution): Leading Generac’s North American distribution network across warehousing, transportation coordination, and third-party logistics with an accent on network optimization, service levels, cost efficiency, and operational excellence. Focus on implementing WMS, TMS, automation, RFID, and standardized performance metrics while developing geographically dispersed teams and improving distribution costs, cash, lead time, and customer service.
Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA; regular travel to distribution center locations, approximately 30%.

What you will do
- Lead ’s North American distribution network across multiple distribution centers, business groups, product lines, and geographies.
- Optimize the warehouse footprint, service levels, total cost of ownership, inventory flow, lead time, cash, and distribution performance.
- Oversee internal warehouse operations and outsourced warehouse operators, including 3PL and 4PL partners.
- Develop and continuously improve warehouse policies, processes, technologies, metrics, and tools.
- Implement and improve transportation sourcing, supplier performance, transportation execution, and distribution execution.
- Lead, coach, and develop a geographically dispersed team while managing performance, succession planning, and organizational talent.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in distribution network strategy, distribution operations excellence, 3PL/4PL management, and distribution or transportation technologies.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience managing teams across a global, multi-site distribution network.
- Experience with WMS, TMS, and FBAP, plus the ability to identify and resolve complex process and system problems.
- Strong change management, influence, cross-functional collaboration, conflict management, problem-solving, communication, financial, and budget management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including excellent Excel skills, and willingness to travel to distribution centers.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain.
- Experience applying Lean principles and methods, with Lean, Operations, or Supply Chain certifications.
- Experience delivering training and implementing automated manufacturing processes and systems.
- Experience with ERP and WMS solutions, including SAP or Oracle, and information management or data analysis.
