Chief Inspector II (Aerospace)

Location: Hagerstown, Maryland, United States; office or hybrid environment with required travel as needed.

Estimated starting salary: $98,633.53–$135,621.11 annually, plus performance-based annual incentive pay.

What you will do

• Implement and manage inspection standards, methods, procedures, and quality-control processes.
• Ensure compliance with FAA, EASA, DCMA, military, manufacturer, and other applicable requirements.
• Support aircraft airworthiness certification by signing off inspections and aircraft releases.
• Coordinate inspections for scheduled maintenance, aircraft modifications, and component changes.
• Verify approved equipment, materials, and workmanship standards.
• Maintain inspection records, support internal audits, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate with regulators and customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent relevant experience; without a degree, at least 9 years of related experience is required.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience, unless substituted by a higher-level degree or the experience alternative.
• Active, current FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification and Inspection Authorization designation.
• Knowledge of FAA regulations, aviation inspection practices, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts.
• Ability to interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications, with advanced troubleshooting knowledge.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. government authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with EASA regulations and DCMA guidelines.
• Supervisory, managerial, or lead experience, including assigning and evaluating work and developing staff competence.
• Background in aerospace and defense, the U.S. Department of Defense, or the U.S. military.
