Senior Civil/Structural Engineer I

Location: Overland Park, Kansas, US. Onsite Monday–Friday; a hybrid schedule is available after satisfactory completion of the probationary period. Travel of at least 20% is required.

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 annually.

Develops HVAC cooling, detection, and measurement solutions, including industrial cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units for hospitals, data centers, power plants, and other large facilities.

What you will do

• Provide structural engineering for complex cooling tower projects across multiple product lines and materials.
• Manage project schedules, task planning, document control, vendor engineering documents, and project completion verification.
• Coordinate internal and external teams, delegate work to engineers and drafters, and provide technical support to sales, construction, customers, and field teams.
• Develop new designs, engineering specifications, operating and maintenance manuals, and solutions to technical problems.
• Approve drawings, conduct product and contractual testing, troubleshoot and improve production equipment, and support installation and commissioning.
• Provide technical bid evaluations and pricing information for new quotes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering; a master’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
• Eligibility to become certified as an EIT after passing the FE exam; EIT/FE and PE credentials are preferred.
• Must pass the EIT/FE exam within two years of the BS degree or hire date, whichever is later, and the PE exam within six years.
• Experience or knowledge in structural engineering, cooling tower design, design for manufacturing, national building codes, and complex spatial geometry.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MatchCAD, RISA2D, RISA3D, Solid Edge, SAP ERP, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
