Senior Professional Engineer, Structural - Manufacturing & Heavy Industrial Facilities

Location: Duluth, Minnesota, United States. Hybrid schedule: Tuesday–Thursday in the office and Monday–Friday remote; candidates outside the Duluth area may be eligible for a modified schedule with a minimum of one office day per week.

Salary: $107,000–$162,000 per year.

What you will do

• Analyze and design structures for light to heavy industrial, manufacturing, mining, commercial, and other facility projects.
• Plan, direct, and monitor multidisciplinary projects from conceptual design through construction administration.
• Design structural steel, cast-in-place concrete, and precast concrete for new construction, renovations, expansions, conversions, and reinforcements.
• Assess existing structures and prepare plans and specifications for structural repairs.
• Mentor and develop less experienced structural engineering professionals.
• Support business development through proposals, capabilities presentations, project interviews, networking, and client relationship development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• Structural Engineer registration in Minnesota and 12 or more years of experience designing heavy industrial structures.
• Proficiency with RISA 3D or RAM Structural System, MathCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of structural steel, cast-in-place concrete, and precast concrete design.
• Experience with structural condition assessments, technical reports, proposals, project meetings, and client presentations.
• Ability to travel up to 30% for team meetings, client consultations, and site inspections.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Business development experience, including proposals, fee estimates, and capabilities presentations.
• Experience or interest in managing multidisciplinary projects.
