Manager - Transmission & Substation Project Development (Electrical Engineering)

Location: Full-time in office in Rochester, New York, United States

Salary: $128,320–$160,400 annually, dependent on experience

What you will do

• Lead a diverse team of utility engineering experts conducting comprehensive transmission and substation needs and solutions assessments.
• Oversee the development of new transmission and substation capital projects to conceptual design, financial approval, and handoff for execution.
• Provide technical, investment, and decision-making oversight for capital projects from inception through construction.
• Support the long-term transmission and substation capital investment portfolio, including rate cases, regulatory funding commitments, and ISO reporting.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Planning, regulators, ISOs, executives, and other stakeholders to identify system needs and communicate recommended solutions.
• Represent hirify.global in regulatory proceedings, national and regional forums, and technical discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
• At least seven years of practical experience and working knowledge across transmission and distribution power systems, including Planning, Engineering, Construction, or Operations.
• Experience leading and developing engineering teams responsible for transmission and substation reliability and infrastructure assessments.
• Ability to evaluate solution alternatives, justify projects, and develop investment plans based on risk, value, and implementation complexity.
• Ability to prepare project documentation and communicate clearly with executives, senior leadership, regulators, ISOs, and other stakeholders.
• Applicants must meet applicable United States immigration requirements to work in the country.
