Safety Specialist (EHS)

Location: Forest Grove, Oregon, United States; onsite manufacturing role. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents due to ITAR requirements.

What you will do

• Support the site environmental health and safety program and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Report accidents, near misses, and safety concerns; maintain appropriate PPE and safety procedure compliance.
• Analyze safety metrics, identify trends, and develop risk-reduction and cost-saving projects.
• Conduct monthly health and safety training, safety drills, and emergency response exercises.
• Develop SOPs and emergency response plans for spills, overflows, equipment failures, and other incidents.
• Manage Oregon workers’ compensation claims and serve as a liaison with employees, healthcare providers, insurers, and legal counsel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; a four-year degree in a related field is preferred.
• Two or more years of EHS experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Industrial hygiene experience and knowledge of chemical hygiene controls for employee protection.
• Emergency response experience and HAZWOPER certification.
• Ability to wear a respirator and participate in the emergency response team, including Level B response.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required for ITAR compliance. Must be available for off-shift and after-hours calls and able to make decisions during routine and emergency situations.
