What you will do
- Lead the site-wide environmental, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, process safety, emergency response, security, and quality/lab services functions.
- Define and execute the EHS strategy, cultural vision, performance measures, benchmarking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish systems to identify, assess, mitigate, and audit EHS risks while maintaining compliance with federal, state, local, and company requirements.
- Develop EHS training, knowledge-sharing, communication, and change-management programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Build and develop the EHS organization, recruit staff, manage resources, and administer the annual departmental budget.
- Represent the site with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, and provide visible leadership during routine and emergency situations.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in safety, process safety, environmental studies, or a related engineering field.
- At least 10 years of directly related environmental, process safety, or safety experience, preferably in the chemical industry.
- At least 5 years of management experience and demonstrated knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
- Knowledge of API, ASME, ANSI, OSHA, and applicable state codes and standards.
- Must be willing to relocate to the project site within driving distance and travel globally as needed.
- Must be able to acquire TWIC credentials and pass random or for-cause drug and alcohol testing; the role also requires climbing ladders and stairs and using safety harnesses.
