Metal Finisher Technician - 2nd Shift (Automotive Painting)

What you will do

• Prepare truck parts and equipment for painting by sanding, grinding, filing, cutting, taping, caulking, buffing, and cleaning surfaces.
• Mix, apply, and remove body filler to repair scratches, gouges, and other metal defects.
• Apply primer, paint, sealer, and touch-ups to truck frames, doors, subassemblies, and other parts as directed.
• Inspect parts and equipment for defects, identify unpainted areas, and complete finishing work to automotive standards.
• Use hand and power tools, computers, truck prints, checklists, and paint codes to complete assigned work.
• Transport, lift, and position parts and equipment while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Requirements

• Ability to read checklists, paint codes, safety logs, job safety analyses, and truck or parts prints.
• Ability to stand continuously, climb ladders and trucks, maintain balance on potentially slippery floors, and lift or manipulate parts weighing up to 35 pounds.
• Ability to use personal protective equipment, recognize safety issues, hear alarms, and follow supervisor instructions.
• Strong hand-eye coordination, interpersonal communication, and ability to operate tools and heavy equipment safely.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Three or more years of industrial painting experience or an evaluated equivalent preferred.
