Automotive Finish Painter (Manufacturing)

Location: Appleton, Wisconsin, United States; onsite production role with openings across multiple shifts, primarily 2nd shift.

Salary: $28.33+ per hour for the 2nd shift, including a $26.33 minimum starting rate and a $2.00 shift premium.

What you will do

• Apply primer, sealer, and multiple coats of paint to truck frames, doors, body parts, and subassemblies.
• Prepare parts using hand sanding, filing, grinding, taping, caulking, and power tools.
• Inspect painted parts, identify unpainted areas and defects, and complete repairs and repainting.
• Transport parts and equipment, push or pull carts, and assist coworkers with lifting tasks.
• Rotate between painting, sanding, taping, and other paint-finishing activities.
• Clean the work area and tools while maintaining a safe production environment.

Requirements

• Proficiency reading checklists, paint codes, safety logs, JSA documents, work orders, and blueprints.
• Knowledge of all steps in the paint process and fine-line painting.
• Ability to cross-train and perform assigned tasks safely and consistently.
• Ability to use and control painting and spraying tools, wear required personal protective equipment, and distinguish paint colors and shades.
• Ability to lift and manipulate parts, equipment, and tools weighing up to 35 pounds, climb steps or ladders, and work in crouching, kneeling, or other awkward positions.
• High school diploma or equivalent and five or more years of industrial painting experience, or an evaluated equivalent, are preferred.
