Sheet Metal Fabricator (Machine Operator I)

Location: Appleton, Wisconsin, United States; onsite, 1st shift

Salary: $25.15–$26.80 per hour, based on experience and education.

What you will do

• Set up and operate sheet metal fabrication equipment, including press brakes, lasers, water jets, turrets, rollers, and panel benders.
• Prepare, load, unload, cut, and form parts according to job sheets and routings.
• Use computer-controlled machine setup and apply measurements to parts and equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematic diagrams, work orders, and job paperwork.
• Move and handle materials using carts, overhead hoists, and, where applicable, forklifts.
• Maintain a clean and safe shop environment, assist coworkers, and work overtime or rotate jobs as needed.

Requirements

• Previous experience with basic hand tools.
• Ability to read tape measures, safety manuals, work orders, and blueprints.
• Ability to lift and manipulate parts or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift and safely operate tools and heavy equipment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, recognize safety issues, and react to abnormal operating conditions.
• Strong interpersonal communication, responsibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude.

Nice to have

• Previous metal fabrication experience.
• One or more years of metal fabrication experience.
• Previous experience as a Pierce team member or contractor.
