Safety Intern

Location: Onsite at the hirify.global Eco Center in Pella, Iowa, USA

What you will do

• Assist with EHS inspections, audits, risk assessments, workplace observations, and compliance assurance activities.
• Support incident and near-miss investigations by gathering information, documenting findings, identifying contributing factors, and tracking corrective actions.
• Analyze EHS data and prepare scorecard metrics, dashboards, reports, and presentations.
• Support environmental compliance activities involving waste management, recycling, stormwater, air emissions, and pollution prevention.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects using Plan-Do-Check-Act principles.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, Occupational Health, and other partners to implement practical EHS solutions.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify trends.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate across functions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn EHS systems and present findings clearly.
• Ability to work onsite at the hirify.global campus in Pella, Iowa.
