Safety and Health Specialist

Location: Forney, Texas, USA; fully onsite. This role is not eligible for hybrid or remote work.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, policies, and procedures aligned with OSHA standards.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across forklift operations, material-handling zones, and the distribution center.
• Deliver safety training, including new-hire orientation, forklift certification, hazard communication, and emergency response.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries; prepare root-cause analyses and implement corrective actions.
• Partner with operations leadership on safe work practices, ergonomic improvements, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain compliance records, training logs, PPE inventory, signage, and safety equipment, while serving as a contact for regulators and safety committees.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, industrial engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of safety management experience in distribution, warehouse, or manufacturing environments.
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, forklift safety standards, and incident investigation protocols.
• Experience developing and delivering safety training programs, with strong communication and coaching skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems; ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship. Temporary visa holders and candidates requiring sponsorship are not eligible.

Nice to have

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 30-hour certification, or equivalent.
• Experience with Lean or Six Sigma for safety and process improvement.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
