Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Streaming)

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices supporting digital streaming products.
• Develop secure, resilient, high-performance RESTful APIs and gRPC services used by millions of users.
• Design distributed systems for high traffic, low latency, and high availability.
• Optimize performance across services, databases, caching, messaging systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Own backend services across design, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, incident response, and continuous improvement.
• Lead complex technical initiatives, contribute to architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product, Architecture, DevOps, QA, Security, and SRE.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional backend development experience in production environments.
• Expert-level proficiency in at least one modern backend language, such as Go, Java, Python, or C#.
• Experience with distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, RESTful APIs and/or gRPC, relational and NoSQL databases, caching, and asynchronous messaging.
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native applications, CI/CD, deployment automation, and observability.
• Knowledge of backend security, including authentication, authorization, API security, and secrets management, plus experience with Agile development.
• Must be authorized to work full-time in Mexico. Employment and education verification are required. Advanced English proficiency and a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience are required.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting products with millions of daily active users and operating highly available, low-latency platforms at internet scale.
• Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tools, cloud migration, platform modernization, and cost-efficient infrastructure optimization.
• Experience with SRE principles, production operations, technical leadership, and mentoring across multiple initiatives.
• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools and working in globally distributed engineering organizations.
• Background in streaming, media, entertainment, or large-scale consumer technology.
