Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Guadalajara or Mexico City. The role is currently fully remote, with a planned transition to a hybrid, hub-centric setup involving hubs in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Bogotá, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo.

What you will do

• Architect and implement scalable backend microservices for the Consumer Lending team.
• Design and manage secure infrastructure capable of handling millions of daily requests.
• Integrate Google Cloud services and maintain distributed financial systems.
• Collaborate with product, operations, compliance, and other business units on financial solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices.
• Use user feedback and system analytics to improve platform capabilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent or advanced English.
• Experience building, shipping, and iterating on software applications, preferably in fintech.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, web services, and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Hexagonal Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture, A/B testing, feature flags, and gradual rollouts.
• Knowledge of payment systems, financial disbursements, security protocols, compliance standards, and KYC/AML processes.
