Senior Software Engineer (Consumer Lending Team)

Location: Mexico; currently fully remote, with a future transition to a hybrid setup.

What you will do

• Architect, implement, optimize, and scale backend microservices for the Consumer Lending team.
• Design and manage secure, high-performance infrastructure capable of handling millions of daily requests.
• Build and maintain distributed systems using Google Cloud services and industry-standard infrastructure tools.
• Collaborate with product, operations, compliance, and other business units to deliver financial solutions.
• Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices.
• Use user feedback and system analytics to refine platform capabilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Fluent or advanced English.
• Proven experience building, shipping, and iterating on software applications, particularly in the fintech domain.
• Strong foundation in algorithms and data structures.
• Experience designing and implementing web services, including REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Hexagonal Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture, A/B testing, feature flags, and gradual rollouts.
• Experience with payment systems, financial disbursement solutions, or compliance-driven platforms is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of security protocols, compliance standards, and KYC/AML processes.
• Strong collaboration and prioritization skills in a team-oriented environment.
• Commitment to continuous learning and keeping up with emerging technologies; equivalent competencies may be considered.
