TL;DR
Semi-Senior Software Engineer (Python/GCP): Building scalable backend services for payment processing, risk controls, and transaction flows with an accent on Python, cloud-native GCP solutions, and financial infrastructure. Focus on designing distributed systems, improving reliability and performance, and troubleshooting production issues.
Location: Guadalajara, Mexico; hybrid work model. The role is currently fully remote, with a planned transition to hybrid work, and applicants are asked whether they are based in Guadalajara or nearby and can work in a hybrid model.

is a Series B fintech company building an AI-powered WhatsApp remittance product for Latin immigrants in the U.S., using AI, blockchain, and stablecoins.
What you will do
- Design, build, and maintain backend services with Python.
- Contribute to architecture decisions and scale payment and financial systems.
- Develop cloud-native solutions with GCP services including Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Firestore, and BigQuery.
- Write clean, testable, maintainable code focused on performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot production issues and drive long-term improvements.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers while improving CI/CD, observability, and developer tooling.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python and backend development fundamentals.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, SQL or NoSQL databases, and cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
- Understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Strong communication and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work from Guadalajara, Mexico or nearby and accommodate the hybrid model.
Nice to have
- Experience with Flask or FastAPI, Redis, gRPC, Kubernetes, Terraform, New Relic, or PagerDuty.
- Familiarity with React, JavaScript, CSS, HTML/DOM, or AJAX.
- Experience with additional Google Cloud services such as Cloud Run, Cloud Composer, Cloud Storage, or Artifact Registry.
