Senior Data Engineer with GCP

Location: Remote in Colombia, Mexico, or Uruguay

What you will do

• Define and steer the data engineering strategy in alignment with product and business needs.
• Act as a technical referent, guiding architecture decisions and solving complex data problems end to end.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and models on Google Cloud Platform.
• Ensure solution quality, security, governance, observability, and long-term sustainability.
• Represent the data perspective in squad decisions and align implementation with capability guidelines.
• Mentor engineers through feedback, knowledge transfer, and technical guidance without formal people management.

Requirements

• Proven senior-level experience designing, building, and evolving complex, scalable data solutions.
• Strong SQL and Python skills, including query optimization on cloud data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Dataform, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and CloudSQL.
• Experience with end-to-end data architecture and modeling, including Medallion architecture, integration, processing, quality, governance, security, and observability.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, CI/CD, Terraform, IAM, Policy Tags, compliance, and documentation.
• Fluent Spanish and intermediate English are required for documentation and international collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience applying AI, automation, and agentic systems to data solutions, including MCP and prompt engineering.
• Experience with Looker Studio, Google Data Studio, Grafana, or Agile environments.
