Military Embedded Adult Counselor

What you will do

• Provide non-medical, short-term, solution-focused walk-around counseling, assessment, action planning, referrals, and follow-up for eligible service members and families.
• Deliver behavioral health, training, wellness presentations, and related activities for the assigned brigade or regiment.
• Build professional relationships with commanders, military personnel, installation points of contact, and community resources.
• Respond to critical incidents, surges, special requests, and emergent situations, including schedule flexibility when required.
• Manage duty-to-warn and restricted-reporting situations according to Department of Defense protocols.
• Record counselor activity data, participate in supervision and training, and support quality-improvement initiatives and pilot programs.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in behavioral health, social work, or another mental-health-related field.
• Current unrestricted independent counseling license and at least two years of post-licensure clinical experience required.
• US citizenship and fluent English required.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Suite, internet navigation, smartphones or tablets, applications, and videoconferencing platforms.
• Ability to work with military members and families, respond quickly to emergent situations, and move across indoor, outdoor, rugged, and uneven installation environments.
• Successful completion of NACI, installation records, criminal history, and FBI fingerprint checks required; some assignments may require a Secret clearance.
