Salary: $49,000–$60,000 annually, approximately $4,083.34–$5,000 monthly; commensurate with experience and qualifications.

What you will do

• Provide brief individual counseling, consultations, referrals, and recovery-focused group sessions.
• Conduct alcohol and drug screenings, substance use assessments, crisis assessments, safety evaluations, de-escalation, and stabilization planning.
• Coordinate referrals to inpatient, intensive outpatient, and other higher levels of care, then follow up with students in crisis.
• Develop and deliver presentations, workshops, outreach, suicide prevention, mental health, and AOD programming.
• Coordinate a specialized program area and collaborate with campus and community partners on care pathways.
• Supervise, select, onboard, and train master's-level counseling practicum trainees and interns.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or a related specialty.
• Professional Counselor I: relevant college counseling field placement or supervised experience and an active Licensed Professional Counselor Associate license.
• Professional Counselor II: Texas LPC, LMFT, or LCSW license with the required post-licensure clinical experience and supervision.
• Experience with brief or solution-focused therapy, assessment and treatment of varied clinical conditions, and crisis intervention.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Experience with electronic medical records, telemental health platforms, and telemental health services.

Nice to have

• Texas LPC licensure or the ability to obtain it within six months if licensed in another state.
• Two or more years of postgraduate mental health experience or experience in a university counseling setting.
• Experience with serious mental health concerns, trauma, program coordination, specialized clinical areas, or evidence-based therapies such as EMDR, DBT, ACT, or CBT.
• Experience supervising counseling or psychology trainees using a multiculturally competent approach.
