TL;DR

Salary: $75,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and geographic location.

What you will do

  • Design and implement sampling plans for small- to large-scale environmental field investigations alongside project managers.
  • Conduct asbestos-containing material and lead-based paint surveys, including the use of XRF analyzers.
  • Lead field efforts, guide junior staff, and document data collection under RCRA, CERCLA, and state environmental cleanup programs.
  • Perform stormwater inspections and ASTM-compliant Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments.
  • Analyze environmental data, identify gaps, and recommend changes to investigative approaches.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and prepare reports, maps, drawings, tables, and visual aids for project recommendations and regulatory approvals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related scientific field.
  • 4+ years of experience performing environmental investigations and leading field efforts.
  • AHERA and State of Tennessee accreditation as an asbestos building inspector.
  • State of Tennessee license as a lead-based paint inspector and risk assessor.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, valid driver’s license, ability to travel, and ability to obtain security clearance at federal installations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and familiarity with Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or similar computer-aided software.
