Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States; frequent travel is required, often with little advance notice.

Salary: USD $72,488–$85,000 per year, depending on experience, education, skills, geographic location, and other factors.

What you will do

  • Direct archaeological projects ranging from local surveys to large, multi-year, multi-state engagements.
  • Plan fieldwork logistics and supervise field activities.
  • Author project reports under the direction of the Project Manager or Principal Investigator.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and high-quality archaeological data and project deliverables.
  • Promote and enforce company safety and quality standards among field employees.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in anthropology or archaeology preferred, with at least two years of fieldwork management and report-writing experience.
  • Willingness to travel frequently, sometimes with little advance notice.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage deadlines, and maintain strong client service and technical standards.
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screen.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.

Nice to have

  • Experience with archaeological surveys, shovel testing, monitoring, data recovery, and field supervision.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and management skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations and environmental review processes.
  • Familiarity with GPS units, tablets, cameras, and other digital field technologies.
