Salary: USD $62,004.80–$95,000 per year, plus potential discretionary bonus.

What you will do
- Lead wetland delineations, biological surveys, functional assessments, and other field studies.
- Conduct biological monitoring and environmental inspections for construction projects.
- Provide environmental training to construction crews.
- Document field data, prepare reports, memos, and emails, and present conclusions.
- Coordinate field activities and work products with project managers, task leaders, staff, clients, and contractors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, botany, wildlife management, forestry, environmental science, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in wetland science, biology, biological surveys, and field methodologies.
- Experience with wetland delineations, functional assessments, threatened and endangered species assessments, and project permitting.
- Familiarity with topographic maps, aerial photography, Trimble GPS units, ArcGIS, field equipment, 4WD vehicles, and all-terrain vehicles.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills; writing samples will be requested.
- Ability to work outdoors in remote areas and extreme weather, travel for extended periods, and work on projects lasting up to two months away from home; a valid driver’s license is required.
Nice to have
- Experience with Section 404 determinations, Texas Railroad Commission requirements, NEPA, threatened and endangered species surveys, and Phase 1 site assessments.
- Experience with migratory bird surveys, species-specific endangered species surveys, karst environments, Section 7 consultation, or Habitat Conservation Plans.
