Electrical Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: Lusby, Maryland, United States; onsite

Salary: Mid-level $92,700–$114,000 per year; Senior $122,400–$154,000 per year, based on experience.

What you will do

• Lead electrical engineering projects from conceptual design through installation, testing, and closeout.
• Develop technical specifications, cost estimates, resource plans, schedules, and engineering change documentation.
• Manage project scope, budget, quality, milestones, and schedule deviations in coordination with stakeholders and Project Controls.
• Oversee Engineering Service Providers, specialty contractors, procurement activities, vendor deliverables, and acceptance reviews.
• Support nuclear plant modifications through troubleshooting, installation oversight, testing, startup, outages, and readiness reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and support technical training, knowledge retention, continuous improvement, and emergency response activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, including electrical, mechanical, civil/structural, industrial, chemical, or nuclear engineering.
• Mid-level: at least 2 years of nuclear or related engineering experience.
• Senior level: at least 5 years of nuclear or related engineering experience.
• Ability to maintain minimum or unescorted access requirements and pass favorable medical examination or testing as required by the position.
• Experience with electrical components and systems, engineering calculations, design-basis documentation, and regulatory requirements.

Nice to have

• Nuclear power industry experience and experience with plant modifications or configuration management.
• Experience with large electrical modifications involving generators, relays, and power systems.
• Experience managing Engineering Service Providers and external contractors.
• Relay, switchyard modification or upgrade, and ETAP experience.
