Staff Electrical Engineer (Nuclear)

Salary: $150,000–$173,000 annually, paid biweekly

What you will do

• Design and analyze electrical systems and components for operating nuclear plants, new builds, and advanced reactor projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports, including short-circuit, arc-flash, and relay-setting studies.
• Prepare or review engineering modification packages and vendor documentation.
• Diagnose electrical equipment failures, support causal and root-cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and collaborate with civil/structural, mechanical, and instrumentation and controls engineers.
• Support design reviews, construction projects, and quality assurance and quality control programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Engineering in Training (EIT) license and at least 8 years of engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in ETAP or SKM, as well as engineering software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or ANSYS.
• Familiarity with NQA-1, IEEE, and NEI standards.
• Must be capable of obtaining security clearance for unescorted access to a nuclear station.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license.
• Power industry, nuclear power plant, or nuclear construction experience.
• Causal analysis or qualified standard design experience.
• Experience using AI/ML tools for engineering calculations, predictive maintenance, failure analysis, or automated document review and quality assurance.
