TL;DR

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid work arrangement

Annual salary: $103,200–$141,900, plus a 15% annual bonus for eligible positions.

What you will do

  • Lead engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments.
  • Support the planning, design, licensing, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of energy facilities and systems.
  • Analyze company- and customer-owned electrical and mechanical systems, processes, equipment, vehicles, and facilities.
  • Evaluate and implement projects with significant financial and operational impact, including commissioning plans, budgets, and cost reviews.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee contractors, and provide technical recommendations to management and business units.
  • Train, mentor, and provide peer review and expert guidance while contributing to industry standards and technology decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a Licensed Professional Engineer credential.
  • 7+ years of professional engineering experience, subject to applicable experience reductions for advanced degrees or a PE license.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles, practices, standards, codes, and methods.
  • Ability to analyze complex electrical and mechanical systems and resolve issues using advanced engineering principles.
  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of engineering analysis software such as CYMDIST, PSS/E, Python, PSCAD, or MATLAB.

Nice to have

  • Graduate degree or graduate-level coursework in Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management.
  • Professional Engineer license issued by the state in which the work is performed.
  • MBA or Project Management Certification.
  • At least three related career experiences, leadership of a recognized industry committee, or experience analyzing industry trends and implementing enhancements.
