Senior Load Modeling and Development Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Taylor, Texas; on-site at least 2–3 days per week. Remote work must be performed from a Texas residence.

Salary: $109,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide electrical engineering analysis and technical support for reliable power grid planning and operations.
• Support load forecasting methodologies, training, and ISO load policy development.
• Analyze historical events and independent data sources to develop statistical models.
• Create annual energy and monthly peak load estimates and contribute to hirify.global, state, and sub-area forecasts.
• Develop energy efficiency, demand response, electric vehicle, distributed generation, and other energy models.
• Develop tools, processes, and procedures that improve system reliability and organizational efficiency.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of job-related experience beyond degree requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Economics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Ability to perform engineering analysis, system studies, data analysis, and develop recommendations.
• Ability to work independently and participate in multifunctional teams.
• Ability to work on-site in Taylor, Texas 2–3 days per week or more as required.
• Work must comply with NERC Standards, hirify.global Protocols, Market Guides, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, MetrixND, MetrixIDR, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
• Experience mentoring or training less experienced engineers and analysts.
