Senior Electrical Engineer (Data Centers)

Location: Atlanta, GA; Clifton Park, NY; Dallas, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Remote, US; Seattle, WA. Hybrid working arrangement with approximately 10–20% travel to project sites.

Base compensation: $125,000–$350,000 per year.

What you will do

• Direct and execute electrical designs for greenfield and brownfield data centers, hyperscale and enterprise fit-outs, campus planning, feasibility studies, and construction projects.
• Design medium-voltage distribution, redundant power systems, on-site generation, UPS backup, lighting, grounding, small power, and fire alarm systems.
• Develop design plans and specifications for permitting and construction using Autodesk Revit.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with mechanical, telecommunications, fire protection, plumbing, architectural, civil, and structural disciplines.
• Define EPMS performance criteria, specifications, points lists, and network hierarchies, and perform or review power systems studies.
• Lead and mentor engineers, designers, and modelers while coordinating multiple project teams and maintaining quality control.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in facility electrical design, particularly using Autodesk Revit for drawing development.
• Four-year degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering with an electrical focus preferred; relevant two-year or EET education with experience may be considered.
• Experience across the construction process from schematic design through construction administration, including submittal reviews, shop drawings, field surveys, site observations, and punch lists.
• Experience leading electrical design teams and interfacing with clients.
• Knowledge of local and national construction codes, client standards, design criteria, and applicable best practices.
• Ability to communicate clearly, meet project deadlines, manage multiple projects, and travel to project sites as required.

Nice to have

• Mission critical, large industrial, or commercial building design experience.
• Experience with Neher-McGrath, short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with Procore and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical controls and monitoring systems.
