Location: Rocklin, California, United States (hybrid at the Rocklin headquarters). Occasional international travel, including visits to Kassel, Germany, is required.
Salary: $130,000β$160,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

What you will do
- Develop and deploy power system models for utility-scale solar, battery storage, hybrid power plant, and data center applications.
- Perform dynamic, steady-state, and electromagnetic transient simulations, model validation, and technical troubleshooting.
- Support grid interconnection, utility and ISO compliance, inverter configuration, and plant controller validation.
- Analyze inverter-based resources, energy storage systems, grid-support functions, and grid-forming control strategies.
- Develop and optimize real-time simulation models and Hardware-in-the-Loop test environments using RTDS, OPAL-RT, and Typhoon HIL.
- Collaborate with R&D, software, hardware, application engineering, sales, product management, service, and global modeling teams; prepare reports, documentation, training, and presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in power systems, renewable energy, utility applications, or a related engineering field.
- Working proficiency with PSS/E and PSCAD/EMTDC.
- Experience with dynamic performance studies, EMT simulations, inverter and plant controller validation, and grid interconnection assessments.
- Knowledge of utility-scale PV and BESS plant design, power electronic converters, inverter-based resource behavior, and grid integration.
- Must be authorized to work full-time in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Masterβs or doctoral degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with RTDS, OPAL-RT, Typhoon HIL, TSAT, Python, MATLAB, or ASPEN OneLiner.
- Knowledge of medium-voltage systems, transformers, switchgear, protection schemes, and protection coordination.
- Familiarity with grid-forming inverters, advanced battery controls, data centers, NERC and IEEE standards, and North American grid codes.
