Engineering Manager I - Software Development (Cybersecurity)

Location: Sparks, Nevada, United States; onsite role. U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

What you will do

• Oversee engineering, deployment, and sustainment of cloud-based and AI-enabled cybersecurity platforms.
• Plan, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure for cybersecurity monitoring and artificial intelligence platforms.
• Lead infrastructure build-out, CI/CD automation, container orchestration, code reviews, and operational excellence.
• Design, test, implement, and tune secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring tools, and IT security applications.
• Manage and mentor engineers and solution architects, including onboarding, training, performance evaluations, career development, and conflict resolution.
• Partner with architecture, operations, security, and cross-functional teams to integrate secure solutions into IT projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in a related discipline; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Typically 6+ years of progressive engineering experience, including large-scale software development.
• Experience with automation, configuration management, software process automation, and at least one high-level programming language.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, software development methodologies including Agile/Scrum, Waterfall, and Spiral, and computer-aided engineering tools, analysis, and simulation.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary design and development teams with strong communication and organizational skills.
• U.S. Citizenship and an active or obtainable Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and other cybersecurity tools.
• Experience integrating cybersecurity solutions with AI/ML-based platforms.
• Experience with project management software and tools.
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
