What you will do

• Identify, recommend, and implement projects that improve quality, capacity, yield, energy consumption, reliability, cost, and process safety.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize operating units while maintaining safe and efficient plant operations.
• Lead process design for capital and expense projects, including simulations, heat and material balances, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing, process datasheets, and design basis documents.
• Support projects from concept through FEED, detailed engineering, commissioning, and startup, including EPC contractor deliverable reviews.
• Lead and participate in PSM activities, including PHAs, HAZOP analyses, MOCs, PSSRs, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Coach less experienced engineers and provide technical training to colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 10+ years of process engineering experience in chemical, petrochemical, refining, or related process industries.
• Demonstrated process design responsibility; production support alone is not considered equivalent.
• Experience with Aspen process modeling, process design packages, heat and material balances, PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, hydraulic analyses, equipment datasheets, and equipment sizing.
• Knowledge of OSHA 1910.119 Process Safety Management, relief systems, RV and PSV design, distillation column operations, hydraulics, and process troubleshooting.
• Ability to work at the Pasadena, Texas plant, including indoor and outdoor conditions, exposure to heat, noise, chemicals, gases, and other industrial hazards.
