What you will do

• Act as the responsible engineer and provide project coordination and civil/structural technical leadership for transmission line projects.
• Perform preliminary and detailed design, engineering calculations, estimating, scheduling, equipment specification, and proposal evaluation.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary design, equipment delivery, constructability, construction schedules, and project requirements.
• Monitor construction of electrical systems for compliance with plans, specifications, codes, standards, schedules, and quality requirements.
• Prepare complex engineering studies, economic analyses, reports, feasibility studies, and budget and schedule information.
• Train and provide technical guidance to junior staff, support process development, and maintain accurate project documentation.

Requirements

• Degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in transmission engineering; Professional Engineer certification is preferred.
• Proficiency with power line and structure modeling and computer-aided design development, including PLS-CADD and its POLE and TOWER modules.
• Experience with Excel, MFAD or Lpile, and the National Electrical Safety Code.
• Knowledge of electric utility engineering standards and practices; familiarity with ACI, the ASCE Pole Manual, and the AISC Steel Manual is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, leadership, initiative, and attention-to-detail skills.
