What you will do

• Serve as the responsible engineer and project engineer on assigned transmission engineering projects.
• Lead preliminary and detailed electrical transmission design, estimating, scheduling, equipment specification, and proposal evaluation.
• Perform engineering calculations, complex studies, economic analyses, feasibility studies, and technical reports.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary design, equipment delivery, construction schedules, and project requirements.
• Monitor construction for compliance with plans, specifications, codes, schedules, quality, and safety standards.
• Lead professional development, training, and evaluation of department personnel.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in transmission engineering.
• Degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or an equivalent discipline; P.E. preferred.
• Proficiency with power line and structure modeling and computer-aided design development.
• Experience with PLS-CADD and associated PLS-POLE and PLS-TOWER modules, Excel, MFAD or LPile, and NESC.
• Knowledge of electric utility industry codes, standards, and practices, with familiarity with ACI, the ASCE Pole Manual, and the AISC Steel Manual preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership, initiative, communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to travel when required.
