IT Engineer - Data Center

Location: Hybrid work required at the Somerset, NJ, USA location

Annual pay range: $70,000–$125,000 base salary

What you will do

• Support enterprise data center infrastructure across hirify.global facilities, including server hardware lifecycle processes, rack and row organization, cabling, asset management, and environmental monitoring.
• Contribute to modernization initiatives involving Data Center Expert, Sunbird, PDU infrastructure, rack inventory, environmental alerting, device licensing, and power visibility.
• Coordinate technical requirements, blockers, and deliverables with infrastructure, networking, facilities, compliance, project management, purchasing, and vendor teams.
• Translate operational requirements into implementation plans, technical documentation, inspection records, support procedures, and process improvements.
• Identify implementation risks, support challenges, monitoring gaps, and operational requirements during infrastructure planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or relevant work experience.
• CCNA certification required upon hire or within six months of starting.
• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise networking environments, including hands-on experience with DNS, DHCP, and/or IPAM.
• Intermediate experience with cloud platforms, computer systems and networks, Puppet, KernelCare, Tenable, and/or Tanium.
• Understanding of Active Directory and LDAP.
• Ability to communicate complex technical problems and troubleshoot infrastructure issues across functions and organizational levels.

Nice to have

• CCNP or equivalent advanced networking certification.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale DDI architectures.
• Automation and scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, or APIs.
• Experience with platform standardization, service catalogs, reference architectures, and hybrid on-premises, data center, and cloud-connected networks.
