Systems Architect Engineer (Levels III-V)

Location: Houston, United States. Generally office-based, with work potentially occurring indoors or outdoors. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency and completion of a U.S. government background investigation are required.

What you will do

• Define and maintain Axiom Station’s overall technical architecture using MBSE and MagicGrid/OOSEM frameworks aligned with NASA NPR 7123.
• Translate mission, customer, and stakeholder needs into system requirements, functional architectures, and integrated technical solutions across hardware, software, and operations.
• Coordinate subsystem owners, program management, and mission operations to manage interfaces, dependencies, assumptions, trade studies, and technical risks.
• Generate architecture deliverables, requirements artifacts, trade analyses, reports, and technical review materials.
• Support system integration, testing, design reviews, readiness milestones, and validation of modeled assumptions.
• Maintain traceability and configuration throughout concept development, design maturity, verification, and operational deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
• At least 5 years of experience for Senior, 7 years for Staff, or 15+ years for Principal-level consideration.
• Experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler/CATIA, Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect Sparx, Innoslate, or equivalent, plus expertise in SysML or an equivalent systems modeling language.
• Experience creating requirements, Interface Control Documents, Interface Definition Documents, and Concepts of Operations.
• Proficiency in Python for modeling, automation, and engineering tool development.
• Familiarity with SolidWorks/PDM, NASA systems engineering lifecycle milestones, MATLAB/Simulink or Wolfram Mathematica, mission assurance, FMEA, fault management, and probabilistic analysis.

• Experience with complex multidisciplinary systems and technical leadership in fast-paced environments.
