TL;DR
System Architecture Engineer (Missile Defense) (MDS architecture and modeling & simulation): Developing architecture solutions for missile defense capability gaps and future threats with an accent on system assessment, modeling and simulation, and high-performance computing analysis. Focus on executing MDS simulations, evaluating future architectures, and preparing technical analysis briefs and reports.
Location: Huntsville, Alabama, United States; travel up to 15% required.

What you will do
- Assess missile defense capability gaps, operational challenges, needs, and opportunities against current and future threats.
- Develop potential missile defense architecture solutions to mitigate capability gaps and improve system performance.
- Develop analysis plans and execute missile defense system simulations using Department of Defense high-performance computing systems.
- Assess simulation results and prepare analysis briefs, reports, and reviews of analysis products.
- Support modeling and simulation efforts by tailoring tools to specific analysis plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 7+ years of experience in missile defense or another complex, large Department of Defense program or project.
- Strong understanding of current missile defense system architecture and future concepts.
- Experience modeling, assessing, and evaluating future missile defense architectures.
- Experience with MATLAB.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance are required.
Nice to have
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience with advanced concepts and algorithms for modeling and simulation, high-performance computing systems, Python, Git, BMD Benchmark, and MBSE.
- Experience analyzing architectures involving directed-energy weapons, kinetic-energy weapons, threat characterization, trajectories, RF sensing and signatures, or EO/IR sensing and signatures.
- Experience supporting systems engineering architecture design, technology assessment, and analysis activities.
