Principal Software Architect and Development Lead (AI/ML)

Location: Beavercreek Township, Ohio, United States. Minimal travel of 0–20%; standard working hours.

What you will do

• Lead software development teams through the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of modern software solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural oversight for software products, IR&D projects, and innovation initiatives.
• Define software architecture standards and best practices for complex cloud-based and distributed systems.
• Lead AI/ML, cloud, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Conduct architecture and code reviews, enforce software quality standards, and mentor software engineers.
• Shape technology roadmaps and collaborate with customers, program managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver mission-focused capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of software engineering experience and experience leading software development teams or engineering organizations.
• Expertise in architecting complex cloud-based and distributed software systems.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with APIs, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps methodologies, AI/ML technologies, and databases.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience as a Chief Technology Officer or in a startup company.
• AWS, AWS GovCloud, and Kubernetes expertise.
• Knowledge of FedRAMP and NIST frameworks.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense or federal government customers.
