Safety Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite at Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island, Florida; U.S. citizenship required.

hirify.global provides safety engineering support for the LASSO II contract and NASA-related space exploration missions.

What you will do

• Conduct site safety, health, and environmental assessments across operational and research programs.
• Support hazardous operations involving high-pressure gases, toxic materials, hypergolic propellants, confined spaces, and work-at-height.
• Review and approve Work Authorization Documents and perform hazard analyses.
• Investigate and resolve non-conformances with hirify.global, NASA, government agencies, and LASSO II project managers.
• Maintain compliance with federal, NASA, state, and industry safety, environmental, and occupational health standards.
• Collaborate across disciplines to support safe and efficient operations in high-consequence environments.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or occupational health.
• Familiarity with OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and/or EPA requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint, along with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders, wear PPE, and work indoors and outdoors in hazardous operations and laboratory environments.

Nice to have

• OSHA 30 certification.
• Fall protection competent person qualification.
• Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, or Chemical Hygiene Officer certification.
