Senior Systems Engineer (Laser Systems)

What you will do

• Evaluate technical issues related to high-energy laser system safety for laboratory and test range operations.
• Provide systems and safety engineering expertise during the design, fabrication, and testing of Army laser weapon technologies.
• Define safe laser operations for field testing against static and dynamic targets at military ranges.
• Collaborate with government and contractor teams on laser components, including Hardware Abort Systems (HWAS) and Satellite Predictive Avoidance.
• Simplify complex technical features of laser systems for senior government management and executive leadership.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance.
• Location: Must be based in Huntsville, AL.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Microsoft Office suite.
• Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time.
